Weather and moods
The market sets a mood, the mood sets the sky, and the crops feel it.
Reading the market
The farm compares the trades of the last 30 seconds with the last 5 minutes and settles on a mood. A mood holds for at least 10 seconds before it changes, except panic, which can arrive at any moment.
- Calm
- Nothing much is happening. Sunny skies.
- Building
- Buyers are clearly outpacing sellers. Wind in the trees and the crops.
- Frenzy
- A burst of buys, more than in almost any recent stretch. Dust hangs in the air.
- Euphoria
- The curve reaches a new high, or after graduation the market cap does, and the farm enjoys it for 20 seconds. A golden sunset light.
- Nervous
- Sellers are clearly outpacing buyers. Clouds roll in.
- Panic
- A bear raid: net selling of 5 SOL or more within 30 seconds. A thunderstorm with lightning, and the bears arrive.
- Rodeo
- Heavy trading both ways: 10 SOL or more of trades within 30 seconds, with buys and sells nearly even. The weather stays as it was.
- Recovery
- The first calm after a raid. A rainbow.
Winter and the finale
If a whole 24 hours pass without a trade before graduation, winter falls: a pale light settles over the farm and the bull lies down to sleep. Spring comes back with the next buy.
Graduation brings the finale: 30 seconds of fireworks, whatever the market is doing, with confetti over the barn and the bull celebrating.
The crops feel it
The crops follow the mood. In good times they stand tall and green, and in euphoria they are at their lushest. As nerves set in they pale, and in a panic they turn brown, shrink and droop to one side. They ease back slowly as the mood changes. Wind makes them sway harder and spins the windmill sails faster.
Day and night
The farm keeps its own clock, apart from the market. A day lasts ten minutes, from dawn through day and dusk to night, and a fresh visit always begins at dawn. The sun and the moon cross the sky, stars come out at night, and every tree, crop and building casts a shadow that turns with the sun. At night windows and lamps glow and the campfire lights up the log folk. Clouds and storms dim the shadows.
