Lore

The bull

He starts as a calf, grows with the bonding curve and wears the market on his face.

A calf at first

Every farm starts with a calf. The bull grows as the bonding curve fills: on an empty curve he is a little over half his adult size, and on a full one he is fully grown.

His horns lengthen in five stages, one for each fifth of the curve. They glow, and they flare for a moment whenever someone buys. After graduation he stays full size.

What he does

The bull does not decide anything himself. The market sets the mood, and the mood tells him what to do.

Calm
He grazes, wandering a few steps between mouthfuls.
Building
He paws the ground and kicks up dust.
Frenzy
He charges in a wide loop around the farm.
Euphoria
He rears up, runs a victory lap, and rears again.
Nervous
He stands still and watches the edge of the farm.
Panic
He lowers his head and fights the bears, harder as the selling grows.
Rodeo
He bucks and kicks like a rodeo bull.
Recovery
He shakes it off with a dizzy wobble, then settles.
Winter
He lies down and sleeps.
Graduation
He hops about with his horns lit up.

His face

He breathes, blinks and glances about, and his face follows the market too: calm while he grazes, alert when he paws or watches, wild in a charge or a rodeo, happy when he rears or celebrates, angry in a fight, dizzy while he shakes off a raid and sleepy in winter. He wears a bell on his collar.

The crown

A single trade of 25 SOL or more is a whale. When a whale buys, the bull wears a gold crown for twelve seconds and the ground gives a small shake. A whale selling shakes the ground too, but nobody gets a crown for that.

Poke him

Visitors can poke the bull. He answers in a speech bubble: a snort, a shake of the head, a long look, or he just goes on grazing. A little plush capsule pops up beside him for a moment. Only you see his answer, though the farm counts every poke.
